Innovative and comfortable, implant-retained dentures and bridges are a cost-effective way to replace a row of missing teeth.
While both can replace a full row of teeth, implant-retained dentures are supported on fewer implants and are removable, whereas implant-retained bridges are supported by more implants and are fixed in place. Your dentist will be able to discuss with you which option will best suit you.
Where traditional dentures are often secured in the mouth with adhesives, implant-retained dentures are firmly attached to implants that have been placed in your mouth. Implant-retained dentures remove the need for denture adhesives.
Implant-retained dentures are robust and sturdy, meaning you needn’t worry about them ever falling out. They look and function like natural teeth, allowing you to chew and speak properly and with confidence. Implant retained dentures are both easy to clean and easy to maintain.
Our highly experienced visiting implant surgeon, Dr Rahim Kanji, will place a series of implants into your mouth. The implants will usually take 3-6 months to heal, after which a mould will be taken of your mouth to design and fit your new teeth. Once made, your dentures can be clipped into the implants.
Your implants will be placed under local anaesthetic so that you don’t feel any pain. During the recovery period, you may experience slight discomfort which is easily treated with over-the-counter painkillers.
